About AALAMIN
AALAMIN helps readers distinguish the Qur'anic text, named translations, editorial observations and later sources - without blending them together or deciding what the reader must believe.
Why AALAMIN exists
Reading the Qur'an in translation, it is often hard to tell what comes from the Arabic text itself, what is a particular translator's choice of words, and what has been added by later tradition - the layers arrive blended together. AALAMIN was built to keep them apart: to show the Qur'anic text, the named translations beside it, and the source of every added explanation, so you can see for yourself where each thing comes from. It does not tell you what to believe or settle questions of meaning - that is for you, and for qualified scholars. Its work is narrower, and we hope useful: to make the sources visible.
AALAMIN does not decide for you
Muslims hold different views about the authority, interpretation and application of hadith, tafsir, jurisprudence and other later literature. AALAMIN does not determine which position a reader should adopt. Its purpose is narrower: to show which words appear in the Qur'anic text, how named translators rendered them, and which additional explanations come from later sources or from AALAMIN's own editorial work.
Showing that a detail comes from hadith or tafsir is not a judgment that the detail is false, unimportant or unauthoritative. It is a statement about the source in which it is recorded.
How software is used here
Software and automated tools assist with indexing, comparison and editorial preparation. No automated output is published as religious guidance without human review. Every public editorial statement is attributable to the AALAMIN Editor and dated.
Questions people ask about AALAMIN
- Is AALAMIN anti-hadith, or a Qur'an-only project?
- No. AALAMIN does not decide what authority to give hadith, tafsir or jurisprudence. It identifies which category each piece of material comes from, so a reader can tell the Qur'anic text from a translation of it, from a later report, and from editorial explanation.
- Is this a new translation of the Qur'an?
- No. AALAMIN reproduces an identified Arabic edition and shows legally cleared translations under each translator's name. Editorial orientation is always kept separate from both.
- Is this a fatwa service?
- No. AALAMIN issues no rulings and gives no personalised religious advice.
- Who writes the explanations?
- Every editorial explanation carries the AALAMIN Editor signature and its review status. The editorial policy is public and can be read in full.
- Why these translations and not others?
- A translation is included because its legal status can be documented. Inclusion is not an endorsement of its accuracy or its authority.
- How are mistakes corrected?
- When a study is changed, the earlier version is kept and the change is recorded with its date, and with its reason where one was recorded at the time.
