Er sagte: „Ihr sollt sieben Jahre bemüht (und wie gewohnt) säen. Was ihr nun erntet, das lasst in seinen Ähren, bis auf einen geringen Teil, wovon ihr esst.
(Ο Ιωσήφ) είπε: «Θα καλλιεργήσετε ως συνήθως επιμελώς για επτά συνεχόμενα χρόνια. Ό,τι συγκομιδή μαζέψετε, (αποθηκεύστε την και) αφήστε την στα στάχυά της (για να προστατεύεται από τη φθορά), εκτός από λίγη για να φάτε.
यूसुफ़ ने कहा : तुम सात वर्षों तक निरंतर खेती करोगे। चुनाँचे तुम जो (फ़सल) काटो, उसे उसकी बालियों ही में रहने दो सिवाय थोड़ी (मात्रा) के जो तुम खाओ।
