God! There is no god except He, the Living, the Everlasting. Neither slumber overtakes Him, nor sleep. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. আল্লাহ, তিনি ছাড়া কোনো সত্য ইলাহ নেই। তিনি চিরঞ্জীব, সর্বসত্তার রক্ষণাবেক্ষণকারী, ধারক(৭৬)। তাঁকে তন্দ্রাও স্পর্শ করতে পারে না, নিদ্রাও না। আসমানসমূহে যা রয়েছে ও যমিনে যা রয়েছে সবই তাঁর । এমন কে আছে , যে তাঁর অনুমতি ব্যতীত তাঁর কাছে সুপারিশ করতে পারে ? তাদের সামনে ও পেছনে যা কিছু আছে, তিনি তা সবই জানেন। আর তিনি যা ইচ্ছে করেন তা ছাড়া তাঁর জ্ঞানের কোনো কিছুকেই আয়ত্ত্ব করতে পারে না। তাঁর ‘কুরসী’(৭৭) আসমানসমূহ ও যমিনকে পরিব্যাপ্ত করে আছে। আর এ দুটোর রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ তাঁকে ক্লান্ত-পরিশ্রান্ত করে না। আর তিনি সুউচ্চ সুমহান।

Δεν Τον καταβάλλει καμία νύστα, ούτε ένας ύπνος. Σ' Αυτόν ανήκουν ό,τι είναι στους ουρανούς και ό,τι είναι στη Γη. Ποιος μπορεί να μεσολαβήσει (για λογαριασμό κάποιου άλλου) ενώπιόν Του, εκτός με την άδειά Του; Γνωρίζει ό,τι ήταν πριν απ' αυτούς (τα δημιουργήματά Του) και τι θα γίνει μετά απ' αυτούς, ενώ δεν κατέχουν τίποτα από τη γνώση Του, παρά μόνο ό,τι θέλει. Το Κουρσέι (υποπόδιο) Του εκτείνεται πάνω απ’ τους ουρανούς και τη Γη, και δεν Τον επιβαρύνει η φύλαξη και η συντήρησή τους, και Αυτός είναι ο Αλ-‘Αλέι (Ύψιστος), ο Αλ-‘Αδείμ (Μέγας).

Tanzil also hosts this translation, but under a blanket "non-commercial purposes only" term that directs the user to the translator or publisher for permission - a hosting disclaimer, not a grant - so the grant was taken from the licensor directly. The "God" edition was ingested; ClearQuran also publishes an "Allah" edition, differing in how the divine name is rendered, which is not ingested.

That repository dedicates its contents to the public domain under the Unlicense while also redistributing plainly in-copyright translations (Abdel Haleem, Saheeh International, The Study Quran), so it is dedicating rights it cannot hold and its blanket grant is not relied upon here. (2) The file declares its own upstream as tanzil.net, and Tanzil attaches a non-commercial condition to its TRANSLATION distributions, though not to its Qur'anic text. Since Pickthall's copyright has expired, nobody holds rights in these words and no licence is required from anyone; Tanzil's terms are a contract binding those who download from Tanzil, which we did not. The chain is nonetheless not spotless and Anwar may prefer a clean digitisation of the 1930 printing. NOT VERIFIED: that this digital text matches the 1930 first printing rather than a later revised edition. No page images were collated. Recorded as unverified rather than presented as established.
