Surah 86
Written by the editors. Not a translation, and not a source. It carries the AALAMIN Editor signature and the date it was signed, because someone has to answer for it.
Seventeen verses on the night-comer, the piercing star, and the statement that there is no soul without a keeper over it. Then a short argument from origin — let man look at what he was created from — and a closing that says the disbelievers are being given time, and asks for a little.
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
Easy-read (simplified)was-samaa'i wat-taariq
DIN 31635was-samāʾi waṭ-ṭāriqi
By the sky and at-Tariq.
By the heaven and the Morning Star
By the heaven and by the night star
BY the heaven, and by the NIGHT-COMER
By the heaven, and that which appeareth by night
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

But what will let you know what at-Tariq is?
Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is
And what shall make thee know what the night star is
But who shall teach thee what the night-comer is
But what shall cause thee to understand what that which appeareth by night is
ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

Tis the star of piercing radiance
It is the star of piercing brightness
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
Easy-read (simplified)in kullu nafsin lammaa 'alayhaa haafiz
DIN 31635ʾin kullu nafsin lammā ʿalayhā ḥāfiẓun
There is no soul without a Protector over it.
No human soul but hath a guardian over it
Verily, every soul has a guardian over it
Over every soul is set a guardian
Every soul hath a guardian set over it
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
Easy-read (simplified)falyanzuri l-'insaanu mimma khuliq
DIN 31635falyanẓuri l-ʾinsānu mimma ḫuliqa
Let man consider what he was created from.
So let man consider from what he is created
Then let man look from what he is created
Let man then reflect out of what he was created
Let a man consider, therefore, of what he is created
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ

DIN 31635ḫuliqa min māʾin dāfiqin

He was created from gushing liquid.
He is created from a gushing fluid
he is created from water poured forth
He was created of the poured-forth germs
He is created of seed poured forth
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
Easy-read (simplified)yakhruju min bayni s-sulbi wat-taraa'ib
DIN 31635yaḫruǧu min bayni ṣ-ṣulbi wat-tarāʾibi
Issuing from between the backbone and the breastbones.
That issued from between the loins and ribs
that comes out from between the loins and the breast bones
Which issue from the loins and breastbones
issuing from the loins, and the breast-bones
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
Easy-read (simplified)innahu 'alaa raj'ihi laqaadir
DIN 31635ʾinnahu ʿalā raǧʿihi laqādirun
He is certainly able to return him.
Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life)
Verily, He is able to send him back again
Well able then is God to restore him to life
Verily God is able to restore him to life
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
Easy-read (simplified)yawma tublaa s-saraa'ir
DIN 31635yawma tublā s-sarāʾiru
On the Day when the secrets are disclosed.
On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out
on the day when the secrets shall be tried
On the day when all secrets shall be searched out
the day whereon all secret thoughts and actions shall be examined into
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
Easy-read (simplified)famaa lahu min quwwatin walaa naasir
DIN 31635famā lahu min quwwatin walā nāṣirin
He will have no strength, and no supporter.
Then will he have no might nor any helper
and he shall have no strength nor helper
And he shall have no other might or helper
and he shall have no power to defend himself, nor any protector
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
Easy-read (simplified)was-samaa'i dhaati r-raj'
DIN 31635was-samāʾi ḏāti r-raǧʿi

By the sky that returns.
By the heaven which giveth the returning rain
By the heaven that sends back the rain
I swear by the heaven which accomplisheth its cycle
By the heaven which returneth the rain
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
Easy-read (simplified)wal-'ardi dhaati s-sad'
DIN 31635wal-ʾarḍi ḏāti ṣ-ṣadʿi

And the earth that cracks open.
And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants)
And the earth with its sprouting
And by the earth which openeth her bosom
and by the earth which openeth to let forth vegetables and springs
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
Easy-read (simplified)innahu laqawlun fasl
DIN 31635ʾinnahu laqawlun faṣlun

It is a Decisive Word.
Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word
Verily, it is indeed a distinguishing speech
That this Koran is a discriminating discourse
Verily this is a discourse distinguishing good from evil
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
Easy-read (simplified)wamaa huwa bil-hazl
DIN 31635wamā huwa bil-hazli
It is no joke.
It is no pleasantry
and it is no frivolity
And that it is not frivolous
and it is not composed with lightness
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
Easy-read (simplified)innahum yakeedoona kaydaa
DIN 31635ʾinnahum yakīdūna kaydan

Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad)
Verily, they do plot a plot
They plot a plot against thee
Verily the infidels are laying a plot to frustrate my designs
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا

DIN 31635waʾakīdu kaydan

But I plot and scheme.
And I plot a plot (against them)
But I plot my plot too
And I will plot a plot against them
But I will lay a plot for their ruin
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
Easy-read (simplified)famahhili l-kaafireena amhilhum ruwaydaa
DIN 31635famahhili l-kāfirīna ʾamhilhum ruwaydan
The translators word this verse differently
Therefore, give the blasphemers respite, a brief respite.
So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while
let the misbelievers bide; do thou then let them bide awhile
Deal calmly therefore with the infidels; leave them awhile alone
Wherefore, O prophet, bear with the unbelievers: Let them alone a while
Surah 87

Nineteen verses: praise the name of your Lord the Most High, who created and proportioned, and destined and guided. It promises the reciter will not forget, and ends by saying this is in the earlier scriptures, the scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى

Praise the Name of your Lord, the Most High.
