The question sets two kinds of verse side by side. Some say there is no protector besides God. Another has angels call themselves protectors.
At 2:107 Itani has "apart from God you have no guardian or helper". At 6:51 Itani has "they have no protector or intercessor apart from him". At these two verses Pickthall has guardian and "protecting ally", and Palmer and Rodwell have patron.
At 41:30 the angels descend on those who say their Lord is God and then go straight. At 41:31 the angels speak. Pickthall has "We are your protecting friends", Palmer has "we are your patrons", and Rodwell has "We are your guardians". The words are spoken to people who say their Lord is God.
At 9:71 words of the same kind are used of believers among themselves: Itani, Rodwell and Sale print friends, and Palmer prints patrons. Pickthall has "protecting friends one of another".
So the renderings print both lines. Apart from God there is no guardian or helper, and the angels, and believers too, are called protectors, friends or patrons of people who hold God as their Lord. None of these five verses carries a sentence that joins the two lines, and this study does not supply one.

They who misbelieve, whether of those who have the Book or of the idolaters, would fain that no good were sent down to you from your Lord; but God specially favours with His mercy whom He will, for God is Lord of mighty grace
The unbelievers among the people of the Book, and among the idolaters, desire not that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord: but God will shew His special mercy to whom He will, for He is of great bounty

Und warne damit (also mit dem Quran) diejenigen, die sich fürchten, dass sie zu ihrem Herrn versammelt werden - sie haben außer Ihm weder einen Schutzherrn noch einen Fürsprecher -, auf dass sie (Allah) fürchten mögen!
Προειδοποίησέ τους, λοιπόν, (ω, Μωχάμμαντ) μ' αυτό (το Κορ’άν) όσους φοβούνται ότι θα συγκεντρωθούν ενώπιον του Κυρίου τους (την Ημέρα της Κρίσεως) -δε θα έχουν κανέναν προστάτη ή μεσολαβητή εκτός από Αυτόν-, ίσως και να φυλαχθούν από την τιμωρία Του (τηρώντας τις εντολές Του).
और इस (क़ुरआन) के द्वारा उन लोगों को डराएँ, जो इस बात का भय रखते हैं कि वे अपने पालनहार के पास (क़ियामत के दिन) एकत्र किए जाएँगे, उनके लिए उस (अल्लाह) के सिवा न कोई सहायक होगा और न कोई सिफ़ारिशी, ताकि वे (अल्लाह से) डरें।

Och varna med denna [Koran], de som fruktar att samlas åter inför sin Herre – de har ju ingen annan än Gud som kan beskydda dem eller medla för dem – så att de må visa gudsfruktan.

But as for those who reject Our revelations, torment will afflict them because of their defiance.
But as for those who deny Our revelations, torment will afflict them for that they used to disobey
but those who say our signs are lies, torment shall touch them, for that they have done so wrong
But whoso shall charge our signs with falsehood, on them shall fall a punishment for their wicked doings
And those who reject our Signs, punishment will touch them, because they disobeyed
قُل لَّآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِى خَزَآئِنُ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ وَلَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِنِّى مَلَكٌ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ أَفَلَا تَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Say, "I do not say to you that I possess the treasuries of God, nor do I know the future, nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I only follow what is inspired to me." Say, "Are the blind and the seeing alike? Do you not think?"
Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers): I say not unto you (that) I possess the treasures of Allah, nor that I have knowledge of the Unseen; and I say not unto you: Lo! I am an angel. I follow only that which is inspired in me. Say: Are the blind man and the seer equal? Will ye not then take thought
Say, 'I do not say to you, mine are the treasuries of God, nor that I know the unseen; I do not say to you, I am an angel - if I follow aught but what I am inspired with -:' say, 'Is the blind equal to him who sees?' what! do ye not reflect

Repel not those who call upon their Lord at morn and evening, seeking His Countenance. Thou art not accountable for them in aught, nor are they accountable for thee in aught, that thou shouldst repel them and be of the wrong-doers
Repulse not those who call upon their Lord in the morning and in the evening, desiring His face; they have no reckoning against thee at all, and thou hast no reckoning against them at all;- repulse them and thou wilt be of the unjust
And thrust not thou away those who cry to their Lord at morn and even, craving to behold his face. It is not for thee in anything to judge of their motives, nor for them in anything to judge of thee. If thou thrust them away thou wilt be of the doers of wrong
And drive not away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His pleasure. Thou art not at all accountable for them nor are they accountable for thee. So if thou shouldst drive them away thou wilt be of the unjust
وَكَذَٰلِكَ فَتَنَّا بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لِّيَقُولُوٓا۟ أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنۢ بَيْنِنَآ أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ

Thus We try some of them by means of others, that they may say, "Are these the ones whom God has favored from among us?" Is God not aware of the appreciative?
And even so do We try some of them by others, that they say: Are these they whom Allah favoureth among us? Is not Allah best Aware of the thanksgivers
So have we tried some of them by others, that they may say, 'Are these those unto whom God has been gracious amongst ourselves?' Does not God know those who give thanks
Thus have we made proof of some of them by others, that they may say, "Are these they among us to whom God hath been gracious?" Doth not God best know the thankful
And in the like manner have We tried some of them by others, that they may say, 'Is it these whom God has favoured from among us?' Does not God know best those who are grateful

Surely, those who say: "Our Lord is God," and then go straight, the angels will descend upon them: "Do not fear, and do not grieve, but rejoice in the news of the Garden which you were promised.

নিশ্চয় যারা বলে: ‘আল্লাহই আমাদের রব’। অতঃপর অবিচল থাকে। (মৃত্যুর সময়) ফিরিশতারা তাদের কাছে নাযিল হয় (এবং বলে,) ‘তোমরা ভীত হয়ো না, (১৭) দুশ্চিন্তা করো না এবং সেই জান্নাতের সুসংবাদ গ্রহণ কর, যার ওয়াদা তোমাদেরকে দেয়া হয়েছিল।’

Och till de som bekänner: ”Gud är vår Herre”, och sedan står fasta vid det ska änglarna stiga ned [vid dödsögonblicket, med orden]: ”Var inte rädda och känn ingen sorg, utan ta emot det glada budskapet om paradiset som ni blivit lovade!
Muhakkak: “Rabbimiz Allah’tır” deyip sonra dosdoğru olanların üzerine melekler: “Korkmayın, üzülmeyin ve size vaat olunan cennetle sevinin” diye inerler.

Such is the recompense of God's enemies-the Fire-where they will have their permanent home, in recompense for having disregarded Our revelations.
That is the reward of Allah's enemies: the Fire. Therein is their immortal home, payment forasmuch as they denied Our revelations
That is, the recompense of the enemies of God,- the fire! for them is an eternal abode therein: a recompense for that they did gainsay our signs
This the reward of the enemies of God, - the Fire! it shall be their eternal abode, in requital for their gainsaying our signs
This shall be the reward of the enemies of God, namely, hell fire; therein is prepared for them an everlasting abode, as a reward for that they have wittingly rejected our signs

Those who disbelieved will say, "Our Lord, show us those who led us astray-among jinn and humans-and we will trample them under our feet, so they become among of the lowest."
And those who disbelieve will say: Our Lord! Show us those who beguiled us of the jinn and humankind. We will place them underneath our feet that they may be among the nethermost
And those who misbelieved say, 'Our Lord, show us those who have led us astray amongst the ginns and mankind; we will place them beneath our feet, and they shall both be amongst those who are put down
And they who believed not shall say, "O our Lord! shew us those of the Djinn and men who led us astray: both of them will we put under out feet, that they may be of the humbled
And the infidels shall say in hell, O Lord, shew us the two who seduced us, of the genii and men, and we will cast them under our feet, that they may become most base and despicable

हम सांसारिक जीवन में भी तुम्हारे सहायक हैं तथा आख़िरत में भी,और तुम्हारे लिए उस (जन्नत) में वह कुछ है, जो तुम्हारे दिल चाहेंगे तथा उसमें तुम्हारे लिए वह कुछ है, जिसकी तुम माँग करोगे।

31. „Mes buvome jūsų draugai šio pasaulio gyvenime, ir (taip pat) esame Amžinybėje. Joje jūs turėsite (viską) ko jūs trokštate, ir joje jūs turėsite (viską), ko prašote.

Those who disbelieved will say, "Our Lord, show us those who led us astray-among jinn and humans-and we will trample them under our feet, so they become among of the lowest."
And those who disbelieve will say: Our Lord! Show us those who beguiled us of the jinn and humankind. We will place them underneath our feet that they may be among the nethermost
And those who misbelieved say, 'Our Lord, show us those who have led us astray amongst the ginns and mankind; we will place them beneath our feet, and they shall both be amongst those who are put down
And they who believed not shall say, "O our Lord! shew us those of the Djinn and men who led us astray: both of them will we put under out feet, that they may be of the humbled
And the infidels shall say in hell, O Lord, shew us the two who seduced us, of the genii and men, and we will cast them under our feet, that they may become most base and despicable
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَبْشِرُوا۟ بِٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ

Surely, those who say: "Our Lord is God," and then go straight, the angels will descend upon them: "Do not fear, and do not grieve, but rejoice in the news of the Garden which you were promised.
Lo! those who say: Our Lord is Allah, and afterward are upright, the angels descend upon them, saying: Fear not nor grieve, but hear good tidings of the paradise which ye are promised
Verily, those who say, 'Our Lord is God,' and then go straight, the angels descend upon them - 'fear not and be not grieved, but receive the glad tidings of Paradise which ye were promised
But as for those who say, "Our Lord is God;" and who go straight to Him, angels shall descend to them and say, "Fear ye not, neither be ye grieved, but rejoice ye in the paradise which ye have been promised
As for those who say, our Lord is God, and who behave uprightly; the angels shall descend unto them, and shall say, fear not, neither be ye grieved; but rejoice in the hopes of paradise, which ye have been promised

আর মু’মিন পুরুষ ও মু’মিন নারীরা একে অপরের বন্ধু । তারা সৎকাজের আদেশ দেয় ও অসৎকাজ থেকে নিষেধ করে, সালাত কায়িম করে, যাকাত দেয় এবং আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রাসূলের আনুগত্য করে। এরাই সেসব লোক, যাদের প্রতি আল্লাহ অচিরেই রহম করবেন। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।

მორწმუნე კაცები და მორწმუნე ქალები ერთმანეთის მეგობრები და მფარველები არიან. ისინი ბრძანებენ იმას, რაც სიკეთეა და კრძალავენ იმას, რაც ბოროტებაა, აღასრულებენ ლოცვას და გასცემენ ზაქათს, ემორჩილებიან ალლაჰსა და მის შუამავალს. სწორედ მათ შეიწყალებს ალლაჰი. ჭეშმარიტად, ალლაჰი ძლევამოსილი, ბრძენია.
Und die gläubigen Männer und Frauen sind einer des anderen Beschützer. Sie gebieten das Rechte und verbieten das Verwerfliche, verrichten das Gebet und entrichten die Pflichtabgabe und gehorchen Allah und Seinem Gesandten. Sie sind jene, denen Allah Sich erbarmen wird. Wahrlich, Allah ist allmächtig und allweise.
Οι πιστοί, άνδρες και γυναίκες, είναι οι υποστηρικτές (οι κηδεμόνες και οι προστάτες) ο ένας για τον άλλο, διατάζουν το καλό, απαγορεύουν το κακό, τελούν την προσευχή, παραχωρούν τη Ζακά (ετήσια υποχρεωτική ελεημοσύνη) και υπακούουν τον Αλλάχ και τον Αγγελιαφόρο Του. Εκείνοι είναι αυτοί που θα τους ελεήσει ο Αλλάχ. Πράγματι, ο Αλλάχ είναι ‘Αζείζ (Παντοδύναμος, Ανίκητος) και Χακείμ (Πάνσοφος).
और ईमान वाले मर्द और ईमान वाली औरतें एक-दूसरे के दोस्त हैं, वे भलाई का हुक्म देते हैं और बुराई से मना करते हैं और नमाज़ क़ायम करते हैं और ज़कात देते हैं तथा अल्लाह और उसके रसूल की आज्ञा का पालन करते हैं। यही लोग हैं जिनपर अल्लाह दया करेगा। निःसंदेह अल्लाह सब पर प्रभुत्वशाली, पूर्ण हिकमत वाला है।
E i credenti e le credenti si sostengono a vicenda: loro ordinano ciò che è giusto e proibiscono ciò che è sbagliato; praticano la preghiera con devozione e osservano la Zekēt, e obbediscono ad Allāh e al Suo Messaggero. A quelli Allāh concederà la Sua pietà: in verità Allāh è Potente, Saggio.
71. Tikintieji, vyrai ir moterys, yra vienas kito Aulija (padėjejai, rėmėjai, draugai, globėjai). Jie įsako (žmonėms) Al-Maruf (t. y. islamiškąjį monoteizmą ir visa, ką islamas įsako daryti) ir draudžia (žmonėms) Al-Munkar (t. y. daugiadievystę ir visų rūšių netikėjimą ir visa, ką islamas draudžia). Mu’uminoonni dhiiratiifi Mu’uminoonni dubaraa gariin isaanii jaalallee gariiti. Toltutti ajaju; hamtuu irraa dhorgu, salaata gadi dhaabu; Zakaa ni kennu; Rabbiifi ergamaa Isaatiifis ni ajajamu. Warri sun Rabbiin fuula dura rahmata isaaniif godha. Rabbiin injifataa, ogeessa.
Верующие мужчины и верующие женщины — покровители друг другу. Они повелевают одобряемое и удерживают от предосудительного, совершают молитву должным образом, выплачивают закят и повинуются Аллаху и Его Посланнику. Таких Аллах помилует. Воистину, Аллах — могущественный, мудрый.
А верници и вернице пријатељи и заштитници су једни другима: траже да се раде добра дела, а одвраћају од неваљалих, и обављају молитву и дају милостињу, и покоравају се Аллаху и Његовом Посланику. То су они којима ће Аллах сигурно да се смилује. Аллах је, заиста, силан и мудар.
Na Waumini wanaume na Waumini wanawake wao kwa wao ni marafiki walinzi. Huamrisha mema na hukataza maovu, na husimamisha Sala, na hutoa Zaka, na humtii Mwenyezi Mungu na Mtume wake. Hao Mwenyezi Mungu atawarehemu. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye nguvu, Mwenye hekima.
De troende, männen såväl som kvinnorna, är varandras fasta stöd. De påbjuder det goda och förbjuder det onda, och de förrättar bönen och ger den obligatoriska allmosan och lyder Gud och hans sändebud. Dessa ska Gud visa barmhärtighet. Gud är allsmäktig, vis.
Mümin erkekler ve Mümin kadınlar birbirlerinin velileridir. İyiliği emrederler; kötülüğe engel olurlar. Namazı ikame ederler, zekât verirler, Allah’a ve Rasûlüne itaat ederler. İşte bunlara Allah rahmet edecektir. Allah şüphesiz Aziz'dir, Hakîm'dir.
مومن مرد وعورت آپس میں ایک دوسرے کے (مددگار ومعاون اور) دوست ہیں[1] ، وه بھلائیوں کا حکم دیتے ہیں اور برائیوں سے روکتے ہیں[2]، نمازوں کو پابندی سے بجا ﻻتے ہیں زکوٰة ادا کرتے ہیں، اللہ کی اور اس کے رسول کی بات مانتے ہیں[3]، یہی لوگ ہیں جن پر اللہ تعالیٰ بہت جلد رحم فرمائے گا بیشک اللہ غلبے واﻻ حکمت واﻻ ہے۔

DIN 31635kallaḏīna min qablikum kānū ʾašadda minkum quwwatan waʾakṯara ʾamwālan waʾawlādan fastamtaʿū biḫalāqihim fastamtaʿtum biḫalāqikum kamā stamtaʿa llaḏīna min qablikum biḫalāqihim waḫuḍtum kallaḏī ḫāḍū ʾūlāʾika ḥabiṭat ʾaʿmāluhum fī d-dunyā wal-ʾāḫirati waʾūlāʾika humu l-ḫāsirūna
Like those before you. They were more powerful than you, and had more wealth and children. They enjoyed their share, and you enjoyed your share, as those before you enjoyed their share. And you indulged, as they indulged. It is they whose works will fail in this world and in the Hereafter. It is they who are the losers.
Even as those before you who were mightier than you in strength, and more affluent than you in wealth and children. They enjoyed their lot awhile, so ye enjoy your lot awhile even as those before you did enjoy their lot awhile. And ye prate even as they prated. Such are they whose works have perished in the world and the Hereafter. Such are they who are the losers
Ye are like those who were before you. They were stronger than you and more abundant in wealth and children; they enjoyed their portion then, and ye enjoy your portion, as they enjoyed their portion before you; and ye discuss as they discussed. Their works are vain in this world and the next, and they it is who lose
Ye act like those who flourished before you. Mightier were they than you in prowess, and more abundant in wealth and children, and they enjoyed their portion: so ye also enjoy your portion, as they who were before you enjoyed theirs; and ye hold discourses like their discourses. These! vain their works both for this world and for that which is to come! These! they are the lost ones
As they who have been before you, so are ye. They were superior to you in strength, and had more abundance of wealth and of children; and they enjoyed their portion in this world; and ye also enjoy your portion here, as they who have preceded you, enjoyed their portion. And ye engage your selves in vain discourses, like unto those wherein they engaged themselves. The works of these are vain both in this world, and in that which is to come; and these are they who perish
أَلَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ نَبَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَقَوْمِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَأَصْحَٰبِ مَدْيَنَ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَٰتِ أَتَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

DIN 31635ʾalam yaʾtihim nabaʾu llaḏīna min qablihim qawmi nūḥin waʿādin waṯamūda waqawmi ʾibrāhīma waʾaṣḥābi madyana wal-muʾtafikāti ʾatathum rusuluhum bil-bayyināti famā kāna llāhu liyaẓlimahum walākin kānū ʾanfusahum yaẓlimūna
Have they not heard the stories of those before them? The people of Noah, and Aad, and Thamood; and the people of Abraham, and the inhabitants of Median, and the Overturned Cities? Their messengers came to them with the clear proofs. God never wronged them, but they used to wrong their own selves.
Hath not the fame of those before them reached them - the folk of Noah, A'ad, Thamud, the folk of Abraham, the dwellers of Midian and the disasters (which befell them)? Their messengers (from Allah) came unto them with proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). So Allah surely wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves
Did there not come to them the declaration of those who were before them? of the people of Noah and 'Ad and Thamud, and of the people of Abraham, and the people of Midian? and of the overturned (cities)? Their apostles came to them with manifest signs; for God would not wrong them, but it was themselves they wronged
Hath not the history reached them of those who were before them? - of the people of Noah, and of Ad, and of Themoud, and of the people of Abraham, and of the inhabitants of Madian, and of the overthrown cities? Their apostles came to them with clear proofs of their mission: God would not deal wrongly by them, but they dealt wrongly by themselves
Have they not been acquainted with the history of those who have been before them? Of the people of Noah, and of Ad, and of Thamud, and of the people of Abraham, and of the inhabitants of Madian, and of the cities which were overthrown? The translators word this verse differently
God promises the believers, men and women, gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever, and fine homes in the Gardens of Eden. But approval from God is even greater. That is the supreme achievement.
Allah promiseth to the believers, men and women, Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide - blessed dwellings in Gardens of Eden. And - greater (far)! - acceptance from Allah. That is the supreme triumph
God has promised to believers, men and women, gardens beneath which rivers flow, to dwell therein for aye; and goodly places in the garden of Eden. But good-will from God is the greatest of all! that is the mighty happiness

The selection above and this account of it are part of what was signed. Where the renderings disagree it says so; where the question runs past what has cleared the rights audit it says that too.
The probe 'protector|protectors|patron|patrons|guardian|guardians' returns 374 rows at 143 verses, so the frame keeps to the anchors the question names. 2:107 and 6:51 are where the charge rests: no protector besides God. 41:31 is the verse where the angels call themselves protectors, and 41:30 is added because it is the verse that says who is speaking. 9:71 is added because it names believers for one another: Pickthall has "protecting friends", Palmer has "patrons", and the other three print friends, so these words are not kept for God alone in these renderings. This study does not take up what protection angels give beyond these lines; the text here does not say.
