- 05 66:10 God citeth an example for those who disbelieve: THE WIFE OF NOAH AND THE WIFE OF LOT, who were under two of Our righteous slaves yet betrayed them so that they availed them naught against God. In because it is the text's own summary of the wife's fate and it makes the point that proximity to a prophet saves nobody.

The Qur'an tells this story four times, and the fullest charge sheet is at 29:29 - where it is not one offence but THREE.
FOR COME YE NOT IN UNTO MALES, AND CUT YE NOT THE ROAD (FOR TRAVELLERS), AND COMMIT YE NOT ABOMINATION IN YOUR MEETINGS? Sexual conduct, highway robbery, and public indecency. The second and third are in the text and are almost never quoted with the first.
11:78-80 is the scene the story turns on, and Lot's own stated grievance there is HOSPITALITY: BEWARE OF GOD AND DEGRADE ME NOT IN (THE PERSON OF) MY GUESTS. He then asks: IS THERE NOT AMONG YOU ANY UPRIGHT MAN? - and, when nobody answers, WOULD THAT I HAD STRENGTH TO RESIST YOU. The passage also contains the offer of his daughters, which this study shows rather than avoids; the text records it without comment and Lot's plea is refused.
7:82 has the people's reply, and it is the most revealing line in the whole story: TURN THEM OUT OF YOUR TOWNSHIP - THEY ARE FOLK, FORSOOTH, WHO KEEP PURE. The proposed ground for expulsion is that Lot's household is too clean.
27:55 adds KNOWINGLY - will you commit abomination knowingly? - and calls them folk who act senselessly.
The wife is named in every telling as staying behind, and 66:10 makes her the Qur'an's example that closeness to a righteous man avails nothing.
The queue carries no separate question on same-sex conduct, and this study does not extrapolate one from a narrative. What it reports is what the four tellings say, including the two charges usually left out.

29:28 И [помяни] Лута, когда он сказал своему народу: «Воистину, вы творите мерзость, которой до вас не совершал никто из миров!

وَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُهْلِكُوٓا۟ أَهْلِ هَٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا۟ ظَٰلِمِينَ

And when Our envoys brought Abraham the good news, they said, "We are going to destroy the people of this town; its people are wrongdoers."
And when Our messengers brought Abraham the good news, they said: Lo! we are about to destroy the people of that township, for its people are wrong-doers
And when our messengers came to Abraham with the glad tidings, they said, 'We are about to destroy the people of this city. Verily, the people thereof are wrong-doers
And when our messengers came to Abraham with the tidings of a son, they said, "Of a truth we will destroy the in-dwellers in this city, for its in-dwellers are evil doers
And when our messengers came unto Abraham with good tidings, they said, we will surely destroy the inhabitants of this city; for the inhabitants thereof are unjust doers

7:81 Ju u qaseni meshkujve me epsh në vend të femrave; ju vërtet jeni një popull që keni kaluar çdo kufi."

7:81 ‘তোমরা তো যৌন তাড়না নিবারণের জন্য নারীদের বাদ দিয়ে পুরুষদের সাথে মিলিত হচ্ছো; বরং তোমরা সীমালঙ্ঘনকারী সম্প্রদায়।
7:82 আর তাঁর সম্প্রদায়ের উত্তর কেবল এই ছিল যে, তারা বললো: ‘তোমরা তাদেরকে তোমাদের জনপদ থেকে বের করে দাও। নিশ্চয় তারা এমন লোক, যারা অতি পবিত্র হতে চায়।’
7:83 অতঃপর আমি তাঁকে ও তাঁর পরিবার পরিজনকে রক্ষা করেছিলাম, তাঁর স্ত্রী ছাড়া, কারণ সে ছিল পিছনে অবস্থানকারীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।(২৪)

7:80 Und (gedenke) Lut, als er zu seinem Volk sagte: „Wollt ihr denn das Abscheuliche begehen, wie es vor euch niemand von den Weltenbewohnern begangen hat?
7:81 Wahrlich, ihr lasst euch ja in Begierde mit den Männern ein anstatt mit den Frauen. Aber nein! Ihr seid maßlose Leute.“
7:82 Und die Antwort seines Volkes war nur, dass sie sagten: „Vertreibt sie aus eurer Ortschaft! Das sind (ja) fürwahr Menschen, die sich rein halten.“
7:83 Da (er)retteten Wir ihn und seine Angehörigen, außer seiner Frau; Sie gehörte zu den Zurückgebliebenen.
7:84 Und Wir ließen einen Regen auf sie niedergehen. So schau, wie das Ende der Übeltäter war!
7:80 Και (ανάφερε, ω, Μωχάμμαντ, για) τον Λωτ, όταν είπε στον λαό του: «Διαπράττετε μια τέτοια επαίσχυντη πράξη (την ανωμαλία) που κανείς από όλο τον κόσμο δεν την έχει διαπράξει ποτέ πριν από σας;
7:81 Εσείς (οι άνδρες) έχετε σεξουαλική επαφή με τους άλλους άνδρες και πόθο (γι' αυτούς), αντί για τις γυναίκες. Δεν είστε παρά παραβάτες.»
7:82 Η απάντηση του λαού του δεν ήταν παρά ότι είπαν: «Διώξτε τους από την πόλη σας, γιατί είναι άνθρωποι που απέχουν (από την ανωμαλία και θέλουν να διατηρούνται αγνοί)!»
7:83 Έτσι, σώσαμε αυτόν (τον Λωτ) και την οικογένειά του (διατάζοντάς τον να φύγουν το βράδυ από την πόλη) εκτός από τη γυναίκα του, η οποία ήταν απ' εκείνους που έμειναν πίσω (και καταστράφηκαν).
7:84 Και ρίξαμε πάνω τους βροχή (από σκληρές πήλινες πέτρες). Κοιτά (ω, Μωχάμμαντ) πως ήταν το τέλος των κακών!
7:80 तथा लूत[33] को (भेजा), जब उसने अपनी जाति से कहा : क्या तुम ऐसी निर्लज्जता का कार्य करते हो, जिसे तुमसे पहले दुनिया में किसी ने नहीं किया?
7:81 निःसंदेह तुम स्त्रियों को छोड़कर काम-वासना की पूर्ति के लिए पुरुषों के पास आते हो। बल्कि तुम सीमा का उल्लंघन[34] करने वाले हो।
7:82 और उसकी जाति का उत्तर इसके सिवा कुछ न था कि उन्होंने कहा : इन्हें अपनी बस्ती से बाहर निकालो। निःसंदेह ये ऐसे लोग हैं जो बड़े पाक बनते हैं।
7:83 तो हमने उसे तथा उसके घर वालों को बचा लिया, उसकी पत्नी को छोड़कर, वह पीछे रहने वालों में से थी।
7:84 और हमने उनपर (पत्थरों की) भारी बारिश बरसाई। तो देखो अपराधियों का परिणाम कैसा हुआ?

7:81 Dhugumatti, isin fedhii saalaatiif dubartii dhiiftanii dhiiratti dhuftuu! Dhugumatti, isin ummata daangaa dabroodha."[17]
7:82 Deebiin ummata isaa "magaalaa keessan irraa isaan baasaa; isaan Dhugumatti, ummata qulqulleeffataniidha" jechuu malee homaa hin turre.
7:83 Isaafi maatii isaa nagaya baasne. Niitii isaa malee isiin warra (adabbii keessatti) hafan irraa taate. [18]

7:81 Hakika nyinyi mnawaingilia wanaume kwa shahawa na mnawaacha wanawake? Bali nyinyi ni watu wapitilizao!"
7:82 Na halikuwa jibu la kaumu yake isipokuwa walisema, "Watoeni kutoka katika mji wenu. Maana wao hakika ni watu wanaojitakasa."
7:83 Basi tukamwokoa yeye na ahali zake, isipokuwa mkewe, alikuwa miongoni mwa walioangamia.
7:84 Na tukawanyeshea mvua. Basi tazama jinsi ulivyokuwa mwisho wa wahalifu.
7:80 Och Lot sa till sitt folk: ”Begår ni en skamlöshet som ingen på jorden begått före er?
7:81 Ni söker er till män i stället för kvinnor för att stilla er lust. Ja, ni är ett folk som överskrider alla gränser.”
7:82 Hans folks enda svar var: ”Driv ut dem ur ert samhälle! De är människor som vill hålla sig rena!”
7:83 Så vi räddade honom och hans familj, utom hans hustru – hon blev kvar.
7:84 Och vi lät ett regn [av stenar] ösa ner över dem. Se hur det slutade för de obotfärdiga syndarna!
7:80 Hani Lût da kavmine şöyle demişti: "Sizden evvel âlemlerden hiç kimsenin yapmadığı hayasızlığı mı yapıyorsunuz?”
7:81 “Siz, kadınları bırakıp da erkeklere şehvetle yanaşıyorsunuz. Doğrusu siz ölçüyü aşmış bir toplumsunuz.”
7:82 Kavminin cevabı yalnızca: “Çıkarın onları (Lût’u ve ona uyanları) ülkenizden. Çünkü onlar fazla temiz kalmak isteyen insanlarmış” demek oldu.
7:83 Bunun üzerine Biz de hem onu hem de ehlini kurtardık. Ancak karısı geride kalıp helâk edilenlerden oldu.
7:84 Geriye kalanların üzerine öyle bir yağmur yağdırdık ki! Suçluların sonunun nasıl olduğuna bir bak!
7:80 اور ہم نے لوط (علیہ السلام) کو بھیجا[1] جبکہ انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے فرمایا کہ تم ایسا فحش کام کرتے ہو جس کو تم سے پہلے کسی نے دنیا جہان والوں میں سے نہیں کیا۔
7:81 تم مردوں کے ساتھ شہوت رانی کرتے ہو[1] عورتوں کو چھوڑ کر[2]، بلکہ تم تو حد ہی سے گزر گئے ہو۔[3]
7:82 اور ان کی قوم سے کوئی جواب نہ بن پڑا، بجز اس کے کہ آپس میں کہنے لگے کہ ان لوگوں کو اپنی بستی سے نکال دو۔ یہ لوگ بڑے پاک صاف بنتے ہیں۔[1]
7:83 سو ہم نے لوط (علیہ السلام) کو اور ان کے گھر والوں کو بچا لیا بجز ان کی بیوی کے کہ وه ان ہی لوگوں میں رہی جو عذاب میں ره گئے تھے۔[1]
7:84 اور ہم نے ان پر خاص طرح کا مینہ[1] برسایا پس دیکھو تو سہی ان مجرموں کا انجام کیسا ہوا؟[2]

Then he turned away from them, and said, "O my people, I have delivered to you the message of my Lord, and I have advised you, but you do not like those who give advice."
And (Salih) turned from them and said: O my people! I delivered my Lord's message unto you and gave you good advice, but ye love not good advisers
and he turned away from them and said, 'O my people! I did preach to you the message of my Lord, and I gave you good advice! but ye love not sincere advisers
So he turned away from them, and said, "O my people! I did indeed announce to you the message of my Lord: and I gave you faithful counsel, but ye love not faithful counsellors
And Saleh departed from them, and said, O my people, now have I delivered unto you the message of my Lord; and I advised you well, but ye love not those who advise you well

And to Median, their brother Shuaib. He said, "O my people, worship God; you have no god other than Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord. Give full measure and weight, and do not cheat people out of their rights, and do not corrupt the land once it has been set right. This is better for you, if you are believers."
And unto Midian (We sent) their brother, Shu'eyb. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. Lo! a clear proof hath come unto you from your Lord; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not mankind in their goods, and work not confusion in the earth after the fair ordering thereof. That will be better for you, if ye are believers
And unto Midian did we send their brother Shohaib, who said, 'O my people! serve God, ye have no god save Him. There has come to you a manifest sign from your Lord; then give good weight and measure, and be not niggardly of your gifts to men, and do not evil in the earth after it has been righted. That is better for you if ye are believers
And we sent to Madian their brother Shoaib. He said, "O my people! worship God; ye have no other God than Him: now hath a clear sign come to you from your Lord: give therefore the full in measures and weights; take from no man his chattels, and commit no disorder on the earth after it has been made so good. This will be better for you, if you will believe it
And unto Madian we sent their brother Shoaib. He said unto them, O my people, worship God; ye have no God besides Him. Now hath an evident demonstration come unto you from your Lord. Therefore give full measure and just weight, and diminish not unto men ought of their matters; neither act corruptly in the earth, after its reformation. This will be better for you, if ye believe

"And do not lurk on every path, making threats and turning away from the path of God those who believe in Him, seeking to distort it. And remember how you were few, and how He made you numerous. So note the consequences for the corrupters."
Lurk not on every road to threaten (wayfarers), and to turn away from Allah's path him who believeth in Him, and to seek to make it crooked. And remember, when ye were but few, how He did multiply you. And see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters
and sit not down in every path, threatening and turning from the path of God those who believe in Him, and craving to make it crooked. Remember when ye were few and He multiplied you; and see what was the end of the evildoers
And lay not in ambush by every road in menacing sort; nor mislead him who believeth in God, from His way, nor seek to make it crooked; and remember when ye were few and that he multiplied you, and behold what hath been the end of the authors of disorder
And beset not every way, threatening the passenger; and turning aside from the path of God him who believeth in Him, and seeking to make it crooked. And remember, when ye were few, and God multiplied you: And behold, what hath been the end of those who acted corruptly

27:54 আর (হে রাসূল!) স্মরণ করো লূতের কথা, যখন সে তার জাতিকে বলেছিল, ‘তোমরা জেনে-শুনে প্রকাশ্যে কেন অশ্লীল কাজ (সমকামিতা) করছো?’
27:55 ‘তোমরা কি যৌনতৃপ্তি নিবারণের জন্য নারীদের বাদ দিয়ে পুরুষদের কাছেই আসবে? বরং তোমরা এক মূর্খ জাতি।’
27:56 তখন তার জাতির একমাত্র জবাব এই ছিল যে, ‘লূতের পরিবারকে তোমাদের জনপদ থেকে বের করে দাও। নিশ্চয় এরা এমন লোক, যারা (নাপাক ও অশ্লীল কাজ থেকে) পবিত্র থাকতে চায়।’
27:57 অতএব আমি তাকে ও তার পরিবারকে মুক্তি দিলাম; তবে তার স্ত্রীকে ছাড়া। আমি তাকে ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্তদের মধ্যে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করেছিলাম।
27:58 আর আমি তাদের ওপর মুষলধারে পাথরের বৃষ্টি বর্ষণ করেছিলাম। (শাস্তির) ভয়-ভীতি প্রদর্শিতদের জন্য কতইনা নিকৃষ্ট ছিল এই বৃষ্টি!
27:54 I Luta, kad reče narodu svome: “Zašto činite razvrat naočigled jedni drugih?
27:55 Zar zbilja sa strašću općite sa muškarcima umjesto sa ženama? Vi ste, uistinu, bezumnici.”
27:56 A odgovor naroda njegova glasio je: “Istjerajte Lutovu porodicu iz grada vašeg, oni su ljudi – čistunci!"
27:57 I Mi smo spasili njega i porodicu njegovu, sve osim žene njegove. Mi smo odredili da ona ostane s onima koji će kaznu iskusiti,

27:56 Jaabawol yimɓe makko ɓen ngonaano si wonaa ko ɓe mbi'i : "Yaltinee yimɓe Luutu ɓen ka hoɗo (wura) mooɗon ; kamɓe ko ɓe yimɓe laɓɓintintooɓe".
27:57 Min daɗndi mo kaŋko e yimɓe makko ɓen, si wonaa debbo makko on; [on ɗon] Min hoddiranii mo ko o jiyaaɗo e halketaaɓe ɓen.
27:58 Min toɓini e dow maɓɓe toɓo, bonii toɓo jeertinaaɓe ɓen.
27:54 და ლუტმა, როცა უთხრა თავის ხალხს: «ნუთუ ჩაიდენთ ბილწსაქმეს მაშინ, როცა თქვენ ხედავთ [და იცით], [რამდენად ბილწია ეს ქმედება]?

27:54 Und (gedenke) Lut, als er zu seinem Volk sagte: „Wollt ihr denn das Abscheuliche begehen, während ihr (einander öffentlich dabei) zuschaut?
27:55 Lasst ihr euch denn wirklich in Begierde mit den Männern ein anstatt mit den Frauen? Vielmehr seid ihr Leute, die töricht sind.
27:56 Doch die Antwort seines Volkes war nur, dass sie sagten: „Vertreibt die Sippe Luts aus eurer Ortschaft! Das sind ja Menschen, die sich rein halten.“
27:57 Da (er)retteten Wir ihn und seine Angehörigen, außer seiner Frau; Wir bestimmten, dass sie zu den Zurückgebliebenen gehörte.
27:58 Und Wir ließen einen Regen auf sie niedergehen; wie böse war doch der Regen der Gewarnten!
27:54 (Ανάφερε, ω, Προφήτη) και τον Λωτ, όταν είπε στον λαό του: «Διαπράτετε αυτήν την επαίσχυντη πράξη (ομοφυλοφιλία) ενώ γνωρίζετε πόσο επαίσχυντη είναι;
27:55 Πλησιάζετε (εσείς οι άνδρες) τους άλλους άνδρες με πόθο αντί τις γυναίκες! Πράγματι, είστε ένας αδαής λαός!»
27:56 Αλλά η απάντηση του λαού του δεν ήταν παρά ότι είπαν: «Διώξτε την οικογένεια του Λωτ από την πόλη σας, γιατί είναι άνθρωποι που (απέχουν από την ομοφυλοφιλία και) διατηρούν τους εαυτούς τους αγνούς!»
27:57 Έτσι, σώσαμε αυτόν (τον Λωτ) και την οικογένειά του (διατάζοντάς τον να φύγει με την οικογένειά του το βράδυ από την πόλη) εκτός από τη γυναίκα του, που ορίσαμε να είναι απ' εκείνους που θα μείνουν πίσω (στην καταστροφή).
27:58 Ρίξαμε πάνω τους μία βροχή (από πέτρες). Πόσο τρομερή ήταν η βροχή που έπεσε σ' εκείνους που προειδοποιήθηκαν!
27:54 तथा (हमने) लूत को (भेजा), जब उसने अपनी जाति के लोगों से कहा : क्या तुम अश्लील काम करते हो, जबकि तुम देखते हो?[9]
27:55 क्या तुम सचमुच स्त्रियों को छोड़कर वासनावश पुरुषों के पास आते हो? बल्कि तुम बड़े ही नासमझ लोग हो।
27:56 तो उसकी जाति के लोगों का उत्तर इसके सिवा कुछ न था कि उन्होंने कहा : लूत के घरवालों को अपनी बस्ती से निकाल दो। निःसंदेह ये ऐसे लोग हैं जो बड़े पाक-साफ़ बनते हैं।
27:57 तो हमने उसे तथा उसके घरवालों को बचा लिया, सिवाय उसकी बीवी के। हमने उसे पीछे रह जाने वालों में तय कर दिया था।
27:58 और हमने उनपर भारी वर्षा बरसाई। तो बुरी बारिश थी उन लोगों के लिए जो डराए गए थे।
27:54 E Lūt, quando disse al suo popolo: «Commettete atti nefandi pur vedendo chiaramente,
27:55 e per lussuria avvicinate i maschi anziché le donne? Ma siete in verità un popolo ignorante!»
27:56 Ma la risposta del suo popolo non fu altro che: «Esiliate la famiglia di Lūt dal vostro paese: in verità sono gente che aspira alla purezza!»
27:57 Lo abbiamo salvato insieme alla sua famiglia – tranne sua moglie, che fu tra i dannati –

27:56 Deebiin ummata isaas hintaane jechuu malee “Maatii Luux magaalaa keessan irraa baasaa, isaan namoota qulqulleeffatanii”[7]
27:57 Isaafi maatii isaa ni baraarre, niitii isaa malee warra (adabbii keessatti) hafan irraa ta’uu ishee murteessine.
27:58 Rooba (dhagaa) isaan irratti roobsine, Roobni warra dinniinamanii waafokkatee.
27:54 [Вспомни] Лута, когда он сказал своему народу: «Неужели вы совершаете мерзость, видя это?
27:55 Неужели вы приближаетесь к мужчинам с вожделением помимо женщин? Нет, напротив, вы — народ невежественный!»
27:56 И ответом его народа было лишь то, что они сказали: «Изгоните семейство Лута из своего селения! Воистину, они — люди, которые держатся чистоты!»
27:57 И Мы спасли его и его семью, кроме его жены: Мы предопределили ей быть из числа оставшихся.
27:58 И Мы обрушили на них дождь. Сколь же ужасен был дождь предостережённых!

27:54 Na Luti alipowaambia watu wake, "Je, mnafanya uchafu nanyi mnaona?
27:55 Hakika nyinyi mnawaingilia wanaume kwa matamanio badala ya wanawake? Hakika nyinyi ni kaumu mnaofanya ujinga kabisa!"
27:56 Basi haikuwa jawabu ya kaumu yake isipokuwa ni walisema, "Wafukuzeni wafwasi wa Luti kutoka katika mji wenu. Hakika wao ni watu wanaojitia usafi."
27:57 Basi tukamwokoa yeye na ahali zake, isipokuwa mkewe; tukamkadiria katika waliobaki nyuma.
27:58 Na tukawanyeshea mvua. Basi ni ovu mno mvua hiyo ya wale waliokwisha onywa.
27:54 Och minns Lot, när han sa till sitt folk: ”Begår ni denna avskyvärda handling trots att ni förstår [hur skamlig den är]?
27:55 Söker ni tillfredsställelse hos män i stället för kvinnor? Ni är verkligen ett folk utan förstånd!”
27:56 Hans folks enda svar var: ”Driv ut dem ur ert samhälle – de är människor som vill hålla sig rena!”
27:57 Så vi räddade honom och hans familj, förutom hans hustru som vi hade bestämt skulle vara bland de som blev kvar.
27:58 Och vi lät ett regn [av stenar] ösa ner över dem, ja, det var ett fruktansvärt regn för de varnade!
27:54 Lût'u da (an). Hani o kavmine şöyle demişti: "Siz göre göre bu çirkin kötülüğü yapıyor musunuz?
27:55 “Siz kadınları bırakıp şehvetle erkeklere mi yanaşıyorsunuz? Doğrusu siz cahillik eden bir kavimsiniz.”
27:56 Kavminin cevabı, ancak şöyle demek oldu: "Lût ailesini memleketinizden çıkarın. Çünkü onlar pek temiz kalan insanlardır."
27:57 O’nu ve ailesini kurtardık. Yalnız, geride kalanlardan olmasını takdir ettiğimiz karısı hariç.

27:54 اور لوط کا (ذکر کر) جبکہ[1] اس نے اپنی قوم سے کہاکہ کیا باوجود دیکھنے بھالنے کے پھر بھی تم بدکاری کر رہے ہو؟[2]
27:55 یہ کیا بات ہے کہ تم عورتوں کو چھوڑ کر مردوں کے پاس شہوت سے آتے ہو[1] حق یہ ہے کہ تم بڑی ہی نادانی کر رہے ہو.[2]
27:56 قوم کا جواب بجز اس کہنے کے اور کچھ نہ تھا کہ آل لوط کو اپنے شہر سے شہر بدر کر دو، یہ تو بڑے پاک باز بن رہے ہیں.[1]
27:57 پس ہم نے اسے اور اس کے اہل کو بجز اس کی بیوی کے سب کو بچالیا، اس کا اندازه تو باقی ره جانے والوں میں ہم لگا ہی چکے تھے.[1]

Or, who created the heavens and the earth, and rains down water from the sky for you? With it We produce gardens full of beauty, whose trees you could not have produced. Is there another god with God? But they are a people who equate.
Is not He (best) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sendeth down for you water from the sky wherewith We cause to spring forth joyous orchards, whose trees it never hath been yours to cause to grow. Is there any Allah beside Allah? Nay, but they are folk who ascribe equals (unto Him)
He who created the heavens and the earth; and sends down upon you from the heaven water; and we cause to grow therewith gardens fraught with beauty; ye could not cause the trees thereof to grow! Is there a god with God? nay, but they are a people who make peers with Him
Is not He who hath made the Heavens and the Earth, and hath sent down rain to you from Heaven, by which we cause the luxuriant groves to spring up! It is not in your power to cause its trees to spring up! What! A god with God? Yet they find equals for Him
Is not He to be preferred, who hath created the heavens and the earth, and sendeth down rain for you from heaven, whereby We cause delicious groves to spring up? It is not in your power to cause the trees thereof to shoot forth. Is there any other god partner with the true God? Verily these are a people who deviate from the truth

11:78 Populli i tij erdhën me vrap tek ai, ndërkohë që edhe më parë kishin bërë ligësi. Ai tha: "O populli im, ja bijat e mia[3], ato janë më të pastra për ju (që të martoheni me to). Prandaj, kini frikë Allahun e mos më turpëroni lidhur me mysafirët e mi. A nuk ka ndër ju ndonjë njeri me mend?"
11:79 Ata i thanë: "Ti e di se ne nuk kemi nevojë për bijat e tua dhe ti e di se çfarë duam ne."
11:80 Ai tha: "Ah, sikur të kisha fuqi kundër jush ose të kisha një mbështetje të fortë."
11:78 আর তার সম্প্রদায় (সুদর্শন যুবক-বেশধারী মেহমান ফিরিশতাদের সাথে অসৎ কর্মে লিপ্ত হওয়ার উদ্দেশ্যে) তার কাছে দৌড়ে আসলো এবং আগে থেকেই তারা কুকর্মে (সমকামিতায়) লিপ্ত ছিল। সে বললো: ‘হে আমার সম্প্রদায়! এরা আমার মেয়ে, (তাদেরকে বিবাহ করো) তারা তোমাদের জন্য পবিত্র। সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় করো এবং আমার মেহমানদের ব্যাপারে তোমরা আমাকে অপমানিত করো না। আচ্ছা, তোমাদের মধ্যে কি বিবেক সম্পন্ন কেউ নেই?’(৩১)
11:79 তারা (লূতের সম্প্রদায়) বললো: (হে লূত!) ‘তুমি অবশ্যই জানো, তোমার মেয়েদের ব্যাপারে আমাদের কোনো প্রয়োজন নেই।(৩২) আর আমরা কী চাই, তা তুমি নিশ্চয় জানো।’(৩৩)
11:80 সে বললো: ‘তোমাদের প্রতিরোধে যদি আমার কোনা শক্তি থাকতো অথবা আমি কোন সুদৃঢ় স্তম্ভের আশ্রয় নিতে পারতাম!’(৩৪)
11:78 I narod njegov pohrli njemu – a i prije su nevaljaštine činili. "O narode moj", reče on, "eto vam za brak mojih kćeri, one su vam čistije! Bojte se Allaha i pred gostima mojim ne sramotite me! Zar među vama nema razumna čovjeka?"
11:79 "Tebi je svakako poznato da nam kćeri tvoje nisu potrebne", rekoše oni, "ti, doista, znaš šta mi hoćemo."
11:80 "Kad bih samo imao kakvu moć nad vama", reče on, "ili da mogu kod zaštitnika snažnog utočište naći!"

11:80 O maaki: "Sinno miɗo marunoo doole e mon! maa ɗuum mi fattinoo(moolo) e soɓɓundu sattundu(jookdu)!".

11:78 Und seine Leute kamen eilig zu ihm getrieben und zuvor pflegten sie schlechte Taten zu begehen. Er sagte: „O mein Volk, diese hier sind meine Töchter, sie sind reiner für euch. So fürchtet Allah und stürzt mich vor meinen Gästen nicht in Schande! Gibt es denn unter euch keinen besonnenen Mann?“
11:79 Sie sagten: „Du weißt sehr wohl, dass wir kein recht(es Bedürfnis) nach deinen Töchtern haben, und du weißt ja fürwahr, was wir wollen.“
11:80 Er sagte: „Hätte ich doch (genug) Kraft euch gegenüber, oder könnte ich mich einer starken Stütze zuwenden!“
11:78 Οι άνθρωποι του λαού του (Λωτ, αφού έμαθαν από τη γυναίκα του Λωτ για τους επισκέπτες και πόσο όμορφοι είναι), ήρθαν σ' αυτόν σπεύδοντας (για να κάνουν με τους επισκέπτες μία αισχρή πράξη) και πριν απ' αυτό είχαν ήδη συνηθίσει να κάνουν τις κακές πράξεις (την ομοφυλοφιλία μεταξύ των ανδρών). Είπε (ο Λωτ): «Ω, λαέ μου! Να τες οι κόρες μου (δηλ. οι γυναίκες της φυλής για να τις παντρευτείτε) είναι πιο αγνές για σας (από τους άνδρες και από τους επισκέπτες μου). Φυλαχθείτε λοιπόν από την τιμωρία του Αλλάχ (τηρώντας τις εντολές Του) και μη με ατιμάσετε σχετικά με τους καλεσμένους μου. Δεν υπάρχει ανάμεσά σας κανένας λογικός άντρας;»
11:79 Είπαν: «Ξέρεις ήδη ότι δεν έχουμε ανάγκη τις κόρες σου (τις γυναίκες της φυλής) και πράγματι ξέρεις τι θέλουμε!»
11:80 Είπε: «Μακάρι να είχα δύναμη (και υποστηρικτές) για να σας σταματήσω ή να μπορούσα να καταφύγω (και να βασιστώ) σε μία δυνατή υποστήριξη (φυλή για να με προστατέψει και να σας σταματήσω)!»
11:78 और उसकी जाति के लोग दौड़ते हुए उसके पास आ गए और वे पहले से कुकर्म[30] किया करते थे। उसने कहा : ऐ मेरी जाति के लोगो! ये मेरी[31] बेटियाँ हैं, ये तुम्हारे लिए अधिक पवित्र हैं। अतः अल्लाह से डरो और मुझे मेरे अतिथियों में अपमानित न करो। क्या तुममें कोई भला आदमी नहीं?
11:79 उन लोगों ने कहा : निश्चय तुम तो जानते हो कि हमें तुम्हारी बेटियों से कोई मतलब नहीं।[32] तथा निःसंदेह तुम भली-भाँति जानते हो कि हम क्या चाहते हैं।
11:80 लूत ने कहा : काश, मेरे पास तुमसे मुक़ाबले की शक्ति होती या मैं किसी मज़बूत सहारे की शरण लेता!
11:78 Il suo popolo arrivò di corsa da lui, e prima loro erano peccatori. Disse: «O popolo mio, queste sono le mie figlie; sono le più pure per voi. Temete Allāh e non offendete i miei ospiti! Non c’è tra voi un uomo ragionevole?»
11:79 Dissero: «Sai già che non abbiamo diritto sulle tue figlie, e di sicuro sai ciò che vogliamo.»
11:80 Disse: «Se solo avessi abbastanza forza o se potessi rifugiarmi in un luogo sicuro!
11:78 78. Ir jo žmonės atskubėjo pas jį ir kadangi jie darydavo nusikaltimus (sodomiją), jis tarė: „Mano žmonės, štai mano dukros (t. y. tautos moterys), jos tyresnės jums (jei vesite jas teisėtai). 11:78 Ummanni isaas gara isaatti kan ariifatan ta’aa isatti dhufan, Sana duras (baalagummaa) fokkataa (dhiiratti qunnamtii saalaa) kan hojjatan turan, (Luux) ni jedhe: “Yaa ummata kiyya! Isaan kun dubara tiyya, (yoo seeraan fuutan) isaantu isiniif qulqulluudha. Rabbiin sodaadhaa; keessummaa tiyya keessatti nan xiqqeessinaa. Sila isinirraa namni qajeelaan tokkolleen hin jiruu?”
11:79 (ummanni isaa) ni jedhan: “Dhugumatti, ati akka nuti ijoollee dubaraa kee irraa dhimma hin qabne beektee jirta, ati waan nuti barbaannu nibeekta.”
11:80 Ni jedhe: “Ani odoon humna isin irratti qabaadhee yookiin gara roga (lammii) jabduu hirkadhee (keessummoota kiyyarraa isin dhoowwee) (isinin adaba ture).”
11:78 А его народ пришёл к нему, спеша, словно их подгоняли к нему, — а ведь и прежде они совершали скверные деяния. Он сказал: «О народ мой! Вот мои дочери — они чище для вас[42]. Так побойтесь же Аллаха и не позорьте меня перед моими гостями. Неужели нет среди вас благоразумного человека?»
11:79 Они сказали: «Ты, несомненно, знаешь, что нет у нас никакого права на твоих дочерей, и, воистину, ты прекрасно знаешь, чего мы хотим!»
11:80 Он сказал: «Если бы у меня была сила против вас или если бы я мог опереться на крепкую опору!»

11:78 Wakamjia kaumu yake mbio mbio. Na kabla ya haya walikuwa wakitenda mabaya. Yeye akasema: Enyi kaumu yangu! Hawa binti zangu, ndio wametakasika zaidi kwenu. Basi mcheni Mwenyezi Mungu, wala msinihizi mbele ya wageni wangu. Hivyo je, hakuna hata mwanamume mmoja miongoni mwenu aliyeongoka?
11:79 Wakasema: Bila shaka umekwishajua hatuna haki yoyote juu ya binti zako, na hakika wewe unayajua yale tunayoyataka.
11:80 Akasema: Laiti ningelikuwa na nguvu dhidi yenu, au nijilinde kwenye nguzo yenye nguvu!
11:78 Hans folk, som redan ägnat sig åt skamlösa handlingar, rusade till honom. Han sa: ”Mitt folk! Här är mina döttrar; [att ni gifter er med dem är] renare för er. Frukta Gud och vanära mig inte inför mina gäster! Finns det inte en enda sansad man bland er?”
11:79 De sa: ”Du vet att vi inte har något intresse av dina döttrar, och du vet mycket väl vad det är vi vill.”
11:80 Han sa: ”Om jag bara hade kraft att stå emot er eller ett mäktigt stöd att vända mig till!”

11:79 Senin kızlarını istemediğimizi biliyorsun. Bizim ne istediğimizi de elbette biliyorsun, dediler.
11:80 (Lût da:) “Keşke size karşı (koyacak) bir gücüm olsaydı, ya da sağlam bir desteğe dayanabilseydim” dedi.
11:78 اور اس کی قوم دوڑتی ہوئی اس کے پاس آپہنچی، وه تو پہلے ہی سے بدکاریوں میں مبتلا تھی[1] ، لوط ﴿علیہ السلام﴾ نے کہا اے قوم کے لوگو! یہ ہیں میری بیٹیاں جو تمہارے لئے بہت ہی پاکیزه ہیں[2]، اللہ سے ڈرو اور مجھے میرے مہمانوں کے بارے میں رسوا نہ کرو، کیا تم میں ایک بھی بھلا آدمی نہیں.[3]
11:79 انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ تو بخوبی جانتا ہے کہ ہمیں تو تیری بیٹیوں پر کوئی حق نہیں ہے اور تو ہماری اصلی چاہت سے بخوبی واقف ہے.[1]
11:80 لوط ﴿علیہ السلام﴾ نے کہا کاش کہ مجھ میں تم سے مقابلہ کرنے کی قوت ہوتی یا میں کسی زبردست کا آسرا پکڑ پاتا.[1]

O Abraham! desist from this; for already hath the command of thy God gone forth; as for them, a punishment not to be averted is coming on them
The angels said unto him, O Abraham, abstain from this; for now is the command of thy Lord come, to put their sentence in execution, and an inevitable punishment is ready to fall upon them

And when Our envoys came to Lot, he was anxious for them, and concerned for them. He said, "This is a dreadful day."
And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was distressed and knew not how to protect them. He said: This is a distressful day
And when our messengers came to Lot, he was grieved for them; but his arm was straitened for them, and he said, 'This is a troublesome day
And when our messengers came to Lot, he was grieved for them; and he was too weak to protect them, and he said, "This is a day of difficulty
And when our messengers came unto Lot, he was troubled for them, and his arm was straitened concerning them, and he said, this is a grievous day

They said, "O Lot, we are the envoys of your Lord; they will not reach you. So set out with your family during the cover of the night, and let none of you look back, except for your wife. She will be struck by what will strike them. Their appointed time is the morning. Is not the morning near?"
(The messengers) said: O Lot! Lo! we are messengers of thy Lord; they shall not reach thee. So travel with thy people in a part of the night, and let not one of you turn round - (all) save thy wife. Lo! that which smiteth them will smite her (also). Lo! their tryst is (for) the morning. Is not the morning nigh
(The angels) said, 'O Lot! verily, we are the messengers of thy Lord, they shall certainly not reach thee; then travel with thy people in the darkness of the night, and let none of you look round except thy wife: verily, there shall befall her what befalls them. Verily, their appointment is for the morning! and is not the morning nigh
The Angels said, "O Lot! verily, we are the messengers of thy Lord: they shall not touch thee: depart with thy family in the dead of night, and let not one of you turn back: as for thy wife, on her shall light what shall light on them. Verily, that with which they are threatened is for the morning. Is not the morning near
The angels said, O Lot, verily we are the messengers of thy Lord; they shall by no means come in unto thee. Go forth therefore with thy family, in some part of the night, and let not any of you turn back: But as for thy wife, that shall happen unto her, which shall happen unto them. Verily the prediction of their punishment shall be fulfilled in the morning: Is not the morning near
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ مَّنضُودٍ

So when Our commandment came to pass We overthrew (that township) and rained upon it stones of clay, one after another
And when our bidding came, we made their high parts their low parts. And we rained down upon them stones and baked clay one after another

Allahu solli si shembull për jobesimtarët gruan e Nuhut dhe gruan e Lutit. Ato ishin të martuara me dy robër Tanë të mirë, por i tradhtuan ata (duke mos besuar). Prandaj, ata nuk do t'u bëjnë kurrfarë dobie para Allahut dhe atyre të dyjave do t'u thuhet: "Hyni në Zjarr së bashku me ata që po hyjnë!"
যারা কুফরী করে তাদের জন্য আল্লাহ নূহের স্ত্রীর ও লূতের স্ত্রীর উদাহরণ পেশ করেন।(৪) তারা আমার বান্দাদের মধ্য হতে দু’জন সৎ বান্দার অধীনে ছিল; কিন্তু তারা উভয়ে তাদের সাথে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করেছিল। অতঃপর আল্লাহর শাস্তি হতে রক্ষায় নূহ ও লূত তাদের কোন কাজে আসেনি। তাদেরকে বলা হলো: ‘তোমরা উভয়ে জাহান্নামে (কাফির ও ফাসিক) প্রবেশকারীদের সাথে প্রবেশ করো।’

Allah hat als Gleichnis für diejenigen angeführt, die ungläubig sind, (nämlich) das von der Frau Nuhs und der Frau Luts. Sie beide unterstanden zwei rechtschaffenen (Dienern) von Unseren Dienern, doch handelten sie verräterisch ihnen gegenüber, und so haben ihnen diese vor Allah nichts genützt. Und es wurde gesagt: „Geht beide ins (Höllen)feuer ein mit denjenigen, die hineingehen.“
Ο Αλλάχ έχει προβάλει ένα παράδειγμα γι' εκείνους που αρνήθηκαν την πίστη (ότι η συγγενική σχέση με τους Προφήτες δεν ωφελεί κανέναν που διαπράττει το κακό): τη σύζυγο του Νώε και τη σύζυγο του Λωτ. Βρίσκονταν κάτω από τη φροντίδα των δύο ενάρετων δούλων Μας, μα και οι δύο (γυναίκες) τούς πρόδωσαν (στη θρησκεία, απορρίπτοντας την πίστη). Μα, αυτοί (ο Νώε και ο Λωτ) δεν τις προστάτεψαν σε τίποτε από την τιμωρία του Αλλάχ. Και ειπώθηκε (σ’ αυτές): «Εισαχθείτε στο Πυρ μαζί μ' εκείνους που εισάγονται!»
अल्लाह ने उन लोगों के लिए, जिन्होंने कुफ़्र किया, नूह की पत्नी तथा लूत की पत्नी का उदाहरण दिया है। वे दोनों हमारे बंदों में से दो नेक बंदों के विवाह में थीं। फिर उन दोनों (स्त्रियों) ने उनके साथ विश्वासघात[9] किया। तो वे दोनों (रसूल) अल्लाह के यहाँ उनके कुछ काम न आए। तथा (दोनों स्त्रियों से) कहा गया : तुम दोनों जहन्नम में प्रवेश कर जाओ, प्रवेश करने वालों के साथ।
Allāh ha portato come esempio ai miscredenti la moglie di Nūħ e la moglie di Lūt: loro vivevano sottoposte a due nostri umili servi, ma, avendoli traditi, questo non è servito a nulla presso Allāh. Ed è stato detto loro: «Entrate nel Fuoco con chi vi entrerà».

Аллах привёл пример тех, которые отвергли веру: жену Нуха и жену Лута. Они обе были жёнами двоих из Наших праведных рабов, но обе предали их, и оба ничем не избавили их от Аллаха. И было сказано: «Войдите обе в адский огонь вместе со входящими!»

Mwenyezi Mungu amewapigia mfano wale waliokufuru: mke wa Nuhu na mke wa Lut'i. Walikuwa chini ya waja wetu wema wawili miongoni mwa waja wetu. Lakini wakawafanyia uhaini waume zao, nao wasiwafae kitu kutokana na Mwenyezi Mungu. Na ikasemwa: 'Ingieni Motoni pamoja na wanaoingia!'
Gud ger ett exempel för de otrogna: Noas och Lots hustrur. De var gifta med två av våra rättfärdiga tjänare men svek dem [i tron]. Deras män kunde inte hjälpa dem det minsta inför Gud, och det kommer att sägas till dem: ”Träd in i elden tillsammans med alla andra!”
Allah, kâfir olanlara Nûh'un karısı ile Lût’un karısını örnek olarak veriyor. İkisi de, salih kullarımızdan iki kulun nikahı altında idiler. Onlara (dinlerinde) ihanet etmişlerdi. Onlar da Allah’tan gelen hiçbir şeye mani olamamışlardı. O kadınlara: "Girenlerle birlikte ateşe girin!" denildi.
اللہ تعالیٰ نے کافروں کے لیے نوح کی اور لوط کی بیوی کی مثال بیان فرمائی[1] یہ دونوں ہمارے بندوں میں سے دو (شائستہ اور) نیک بندوں کے گھر میں تھیں، پھر ان کی انہوں نے خیانت کی[2] پس وه دونوں (نیک بندے) ان سے اللہ کے (کسی عذاب کو) نہ روک سکے[3] اور حکم دے دیا گیا (اے عورتوں) دوزخ میں جانے والوں کے ساتھ تم دونوں بھی چلی جاؤ.[4]

Their light streaming before them, and to their right, they will say, "Our Lord, complete our light for us, and forgive us; You are capable of all things."
O ye who believe! Turn unto Allah in sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your evil deeds and bring you into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, on the day when Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their light will run before them and on their right hands; they will say: Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us! Lo! Thou art Able to do all things
O ye who believe! turn repentant to God with sincere repentance; it may be that thy Lord will cover for you your offences and will bring you into gardens beneath which rivers flow!- the day God will not disgrace the Prophet nor those who believe with him; their light shall run on before them, and at their right hands! they shall say, 'Our Lord! perfect for us our light and forgive us; verily, Thou art mighty over all
O Believers! turn to God with the turning of true penitence; haply your Lord will cancel your evil deeds, and will bring you into the gardens 'neath which the rivers flow, on the day when God will not shame the Prophet, nor those who have shared his faith: their light shall run before them, and on their right hands! they shall say, "Lord perfect our light, and pardon us: for thou hast power over all things
O true believers, turn unto God with a sincere repentance: Peradventure your Lord will do away from you your evil deeds, and will admit you into gardens, through which rivers flow; on the day whereon God will not put to shame the prophet, or those who believe with him: Their light shall run before them, and on their right hands, and they shall say, Lord, make our light perfect, and forgive us; for thou art almighty

Read across the four public-domain translations - Sale 1734, Rodwell 1861, Palmer 1880, Pickthall 1930 - of 29:28-29, 7:80-84, 27:54-58, 11:78-80, 66:10, in full, and nothing else. This study consults no , no , no occasion of revelation and no biography, because none is yet available in an edition whose usage rights can be verified. Itani 2012, the fifth translation shown with these verses, was not consulted for this study.
How this set was arrived at. The verses were found by a word search of the four public-domain translations, using terms chosen by the editor and listed here as they were searched - ye + commit + lewdness + such + as + no + creature; ye + approach + men + with + lust; bring + us + the + doom + of + god; his + wife + she + was + of + those + who + stayed + behind; rained + a + rain + upon + them. The search was a way of finding passages, not a judgement about what they mean: that several translators chose the same English word is not evidence about the Arabic. A different choice of terms gives a different set.
What was returned and not carried. 2 verse(s) the search qualified are recorded as not carried with a reason each, rather than silently discarded: 10:50 - matched incidentally; 26:173 - near-identical to 7:84 and 27:58, both kept.
