An editorial summary of the translations. Not a translation or tafsir.
Eight verses turning on a clear evidence that came - the evidence this surah is named for - after which those who had been given the Book divided among themselves. It says that what was commanded was worship, prayer and alms, and it ends by setting the worst of creatures against the best.
Every verse as a number; tap one to open it. Shaded numbers mark verses where the translations differ most.

Containing correct scriptures
A messenger from Allah, reading purified pages
An apostle from God, rehearsing unto them pure books of revelations
And they are ordered naught else than to serve Allah, keeping religion pure for Him, as men by nature upright, and to establish worship and to pay the poor-due. That is true religion
Yet was not aught enjoined on them but to worship God with sincere religion, sound in faith; and to observe prayer and pay the stated alms. For this is true religion
Nor did those who were given the Book divide into sects until after there came to them the manifest sign
Neither were they unto whom the scriptures were given divided among themselves, until after the clear evidence had come unto them

Counted from the text and the spine at build time, not written into the page. Opening letters are derived from the edition's orthography: an opening token of at most five letters carrying none of its vocalisation marks. The revelation position is reproduced from Revelation order as encoded by the Tanzil metadata, which does not name whose ordering it is.
These figures count the words the translations share. They measure wording, not meaning, and they do not say which translation is right.
The page says a verse is worded differently only above the cut below. The cut is a stated convention, not a property of the text, and it can be changed.
